Manchester United’s striker, Rasmus Hojlund, is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League. However, Erik ten Hag remains optimistic that goals will soon come for Hojlund.
Hojlund started in the match as Manchester United hosted Luton Town at Old Trafford in a Premier League fixture on Saturday night (11/11), securing a 1-0 victory with Victor Lindelof’s goal.
While Hojlund had a promising opportunity in the early minutes, his close-range shot was blocked by Luton Town goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski. This means Hojlund has gone through nine Premier League games without scoring. A stark contrast to his performance in the Champions League, where the Danish striker has already netted five goals.
“I don’t think it’s a confidence issue because he scored five goals in the Champions League, and he came into this game with high confidence. The goals will come,” said Ten Hag, as reported by ESPN.
Despite not finding the net in the Premier League, Hojlund faced an additional setback in the form of an injury during the night. The 20-year-old striker experienced hamstring issues and was substituted out in the 79th minute.
“At the moment, I can’t say anything (about Hojlund’s injury) because I don’t know. We did the examination, but we have to wait 24 hours to see the results. Give them, the medical team, 24 hours to assess the issue if there is one,” he commented regarding Rasmus Hojlund’s injury.
