A shocking turn of events unfolded in the Bundesliga match between Frankfurt and Bayern on Saturday (9/12/2023) night WIB. The home team mercilessly trounced the reigning German champions 5-1!

Frankfurt managed to score three goals in the first half through Omar Marmoush, Eric Ebimbe, and Hugo Larsson. Bayern narrowed the gap before halftime with a goal from Joshua Kimmich.

The second half proved to be a struggle for Bayern as they conceded two more goals through Ebimbe and Ansgar Knauff. Die Roten suffered their first defeat of the season, marking their largest loss in the last four years.

This defeat prevents Bayern Munich from toppling Bayer Leverkusen from the summit of the German League standings. Harry Kane and his team remain in second place with 32 points, trailing their rivals by three points.

Bayern’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, expressed profound disappointment with his team’s dismal performance at Eintracht Frankfurt’s stronghold. He criticized his players for underestimating the opponent who, just two days earlier, had eliminated a third-division German team, Saarbrucken, from the DFB Pokal.

Tuchel urged his team to swiftly recover and focus on the upcoming Champions League match against Manchester United next week. The former Chelsea manager hopes his team can channel their frustration into a victory at Old Trafford.

“We underestimated the danger of this situation and surrendered too easily from the start. However, I have confidence in my team,” said Tuchel after the Frankfurt vs. Bayern match, as reported by Get Football News Germany.

“There’s no point in dwelling on everything now. The game continues on Tuesday [at] Old Trafford. We need a reaction there,” he emphasized.
