Uzbekistan secured a 2-1 victory against England at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Wednesday (22/11/2023). Uzbekistan took the lead 1-0 with Amirbek Saidov’s goal in the 4th minute.

England equalized with a goal from Joel Ndala in a counter-attack in the 35th minute, making it 1-1. Uzbekistan regained the lead at 2-1 through Lazizbek Mirzayev’s free-kick in the 67th minute.

“Alhamdulillah, we won this match; it was a very tough game. Our opponents (England) also played very well, exceptionally well,” commented Anvar Rakhimov after the match.

Anvar also expressed his gratitude to the fans who supported the team. Throughout the game, chants of support for Uzbekistan were heard from the stands.

As the referee concluded the match, Uzbekistan’s victory was celebrated enthusiastically by the audience. Anvar mentioned that this triumph was not only the result of the players’ hard work.

“Our players also showed an excellent performance, and thanks. Our players thank Allah, and thanks to the fans,” said Anvar.

“Allah helped us, so it’s about hard work, preparation, belief in each other, and working together,” he added.
